Salenite is what can be traditionally, under Greek mythology, be known as a 'Siren'. Sirens are said 'witches of the ocean' that somewhat resemble a mermaid, only far more sinister. They lure in sailors from misty areas of the sea with their enchanting songs, songs that no man could refuse due to their tunes sickened with the magic of angels. Once captured in a trance by the song, the men would be forced to follow the noise, often falling overboard where the maidens waited. Once in the water, they would restrain the men and drag them into the deep where they would either drown, or die during the process of consumption.
Like mermaids, they appear as beautiful women above the water, but when under the salty tides, their true form can be seen; scaled skin, monstrous serpent structures, and finned bodies is what can categorize them into a more 'serpent' spectrum rather than the beautiful tale of the mermaid.
Sirens consume the bodies and souls of the men they lure, as natural as primal beasts do, so don't bother questioning the 'cannibalism', for they are not human; it is like asking a lion why it kills the gazelle.
Salenite, above land, when she is not in the crave for human flesh, will act as any other. In fact, she is quite flirtatious, and carries a tone of sarcasm. She can be known as a 'thrill-seeker', and will even make 'friends' with these non-Olympian companions, yet when it comes to feeding time, no one truly matters.
If there is one human idea the Sirens agree with, it is Rousseau's theory of "All men are born naturally evil." No man can be truly trusted. Do not pity the man you slaughter, for he is below you.
